The University of Idaho Lab Choir is a community choir open to singers of all ages both within the university (students of any major, faculty, and staff) and community members not associate with U of I. Undergraduate Music Education students have an opportunity to refine and practice their skills as conductors by choosing, teaching, and conducting one song each throughout the semester. These future music educators are coached by the current Masters students in Choral Conducting from the U of I. Through this unique three-tiered approach to service, everyone involved in the choir is served even as they are serving. This exemplifies what we know to be true about music: that it nourishes and gives to us, as we give ourselves to it.
Come hear the U of I Lab Choir as they perform a short concert at One World Cafe.
Looking for a place to sing? We'd love to have you sing with us this semester! Our non-audition choir rehearses Tuesday nights from 6-7:15 pm at the Lionel Hampton School of Music. Contact Madeline Smith, graduate student, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
